Axe, a new TI-83 Plus & TI-84 Plus programming language on-calc
Posted by: raysmithtx Post date: July 18th, 2011
Tribute video to the new Axe Parser project by Quigibo, on Omnimaga. Axe is a revolutionary new programing language for the TI-83/84 series calculators. It is designed with game creation in mind, but the applications are limitless. It offers an alternative to the restrictions of BASIC but without the complexity of pure Assembly. An Axe program can be written like any TI-BASIC program (in the on-calc editor, Source Coder or a TI-BASIC editor on the PC). Using the on-calc Axe app, the program compiles into a no-stub executable or to your favorite shell and therefore does not require any external application to be ran. Keep in mind this is a beta and its nowhere near complete, altough it is alerady functional enough to make full complex games without hinderance (except of course if you don't do backups and mess up your code). Some Axe games and programs already appeared on www.ticalc.org More information, updates and projects can be found at www.omnimaga.org There's a direct link to the Axe Parser sub-forum axe.omnimaga.org

@Fangornmmc Yeah true, also it’s hard to make a grayscale game look good on all 4 calcs at once. I prefer making monochrome stuff personally, unless it’s RPGs
July 19th, 2011 at 3:19 am
I deem it a truly brilliant parser but I think trying grayscale with this is not a good idea. Better just make good, solid and faaast mono games. Robo war (WIP) has shown us that monochrome graphics are most of the times enough (and so has S.A.D.)

@lolitylols You need to put at dot at the beginning of your program, followed by a name of 1 to 8 chars, starting by a letters.
